Attorney Afsana Chowdhury represents clients in all types of family law matters, including divorce and separation, child custody, visitation, child support, spousal support, division of property, and marital and premarital agreements. As a native of Northern Virginia, Afsana is familiar with the local courts and is highly experienced in the area of divorce and family law. She is nationally recognized as a top attorney by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys and has been named one of the Top 10 Attorneys Under 40 by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys. Afsana Chowdhury received her B.A. in Political Science, magna cum laude, from Virginia Tech and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Richmond School of Law, where she served on the Moot Court Board and was an associate editor of the University of Richmond Law Review. She is admitted to practice in all courts in the state of Virginia as well as the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. She is a member of the Virginia Bar Association and the Fairfax Bar Association.
When not working on cases, Afsana is busy being a mom to her two little girls and enjoys reading parenting books and blogs, binge-watching shows with her husband, eating/cooking spicy South Asian food, and connecting with other professionals in her local community.
